Babymoon package at Pillows Amsterdam: a dream stay for expecting parents.

After our wonderful previous experience at Pillows Grand Boutique Hotel Maurits at the Park, it felt like a gift to stay here again. This overnight stay was all about our babymoon. I’m six months pregnant, and together with my partner Matteo and our toddler Luca (2), I enjoyed an unforgettable stay. Pillows feels like a place where you’re immersed in luxury – exactly what we needed to completely unwind.

We were truly surprised the moment we arrived: we were given one of the most beautiful rooms in the hotel. With its high ceilings and large windows, the space felt even more impressive, offering a stunning view of the Mauritskade — so typically Amsterdam, and incredibly atmospheric.

And as if that wasn’t enough, a festive surprise was waiting for us.

Macarons, chocolates, cookies, and fresh fruit — the ultimate treat for Luca (and for me). On the table, a sweet Miffy plush toy had been placed. A gift for the baby, of course, but naturally claimed immediately by Luca. Next to it was a thoughtfully curated book full of fun things to do in Amsterdam with kids. A wonderful guide that gave us so much inspiration for our stay in the city.

Relaxation for the moms

My heart skipped a beat when I spotted the Skins package ‘The Becoming Mom Edition’. A box filled to the brim with luxurious products: nourishing body oil, body cleanser, hand cream, and so much more. While the boys headed to the playground in the Oosterpark, just behind the hotel, I took my very first bath since becoming pregnant — and what a bath it was! Extra large, filled to the brim with warm water, and of course, plenty of bubbles. With a big plate of snacks next to me, it took less than half an hour to feel more recharged than I had throughout my entire pregnancy. Exactly what a babymoon is meant to be.

Dining at Spring Café Brasserie

In the evening, we returned to Spring Café Brasserie — a place we’d enjoyed before. The atmosphere is relaxed, the interior stylish with beautiful tiled details. It’s also a fantastic spot for dining with children. We ordered chicken nuggets and fries from the kids’ menu for Luca, but as a little foodie, he quickly dipped his spoon into our seafood bisque and the stracciatella with salsify, nashi pear, and hazelnuts. Delicious!

The staff were thoughtful and attentive to my pregnancy, and the menu offered plenty of options. Matteo chose the dry-aged ribeye with Béarnaise sauce and French fries, while I went for the roasted cod with spinach and Café de Paris butter — the perfect choice. Believe me, when you’re pregnant, you get tired of overcooked salmon at home real fast.

Thanks to the spacious layout of the brasserie, dining here with a child is surprisingly stress-free. Luca played happily with his fire truck and books for a full hour and a half, while Matteo and I enjoyed good food and quality conversation. After dinner, we strolled back to our room — such a luxury to dine in the hotel and head straight to bed. Matteo and Luca watched the Ajax match highlights (too cute), while I sank into the enormous bed. What a wonderful day and evening. Once again: exactly what a babymoon is all about.

Waking up at Pillows Amsterdam

And then — breakfast. I had been looking forward to it, because it truly remains unmatched by any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. À la carte, with an abundance of options. The chia seed pudding is my all-time favorite, and I knew Luca would love it too. We took our time — in fact, we may have spent longer at breakfast than we did at dinner. Pumpkin spice overnight barley, buttermilk pancakes with wild berries, a fruit bowl, granola with Greek yogurt, the Maurits Sandwich — we tried it all. And don’t forget, I’m eating for two! (Something I honestly recommend to every guest here — it’s just too delicious to resist.)

Thanks to the generous 12:00 p.m. checkout time, we were able to relax in our room after breakfast before hopping on our bikes to visit Artis Zoo — just around the corner and even visible from our room. A true celebration for Luca, made even more special because it was his birthday. What a king: waking up in this beautiful hotel, watching trams pass by the window, enjoying a lavish breakfast, and then heading to his favorite place in Amsterdam. The sun was shining — it was the perfect end to our stay. The babymoon package at Pillows Grand Boutique Hotel Maurits at the Park was absolutely wonderful. Utterly luxurious, and even with a toddler, surprisingly relaxing.
